01

Trace the busiest route

Walk through how vehicles, equipment, materials, animals, customers, or people will reach the building. Identify where they turn, where they pause, and what happens when weather or another vehicle is in the way.

02

Plan for clearance, not just entry

The opening should accommodate the item that needs to pass through it plus the real approach and usable space inside. Door placement should support the building’s layout instead of blocking it.

03

Separate the daily doors from the occasional ones

A frequent-use entry may deserve different placement from a large equipment opening. Understanding that distinction helps create a practical exterior and a cleaner interior flow.
