Start with the location on the property
Consider vehicle approach, turning space, nearby structures, utility paths, drainage routes, and how the building relates to everyday work. A convenient location on a map can be inconvenient once equipment and weather are involved.
Give water a path
Drainage should be part of the earliest site discussion. The grade around a building, the way water arrives and leaves, and the condition of the approach all matter for long-term use.
Bring actual conditions into the plan
Soils, grade, access, existing improvements, and the building’s intended use are property-specific. The right foundation and preparation approach should be confirmed with the project team and applicable requirements for the actual site.
